A long way since October, but not far enough.
I’ve definitely come a long way since October, but I’m still not where I want to be for the race. There’ a little over 2-1/2 months until my race, just over 2 months of solid training left before I need to taper off and make sure I’m fresh for the race. This weekend was probably my biggest workout weekend ever. On Saturday I woke up early, and rode my bike 17 miles down the South Platte River Trail to Denver. I was heading down there to meet up with a running group at Denver City Park. I ran with them for 3.5 miles, granted I was at the back of the pack, but my day was just starting. It did show me that I need to get out and run more because while my mind, legs, arms, and everything felt great, my ankles were killing me about 2 miles into the run. I went with the group to grab breakfast, let that settle and then got on the bike and headed back home. Once I got home I grabbed my swim gear and headed to the gym to get some swimming in. I ended up doing 4×400m swims, so a total of a mile.
